Haunted House – Sector 16, Chandigarh.

We have calcium in our bones, iron in our veins, and carbon in our souls and nitrogen in our brains. 93 percent of stardust, with souls made of flames, we all are just stars that have people names.

Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana, is a magnificent city. It is often highly praised for being one of the well-planned cities in the country. However, like every other city, it too has its share of deep dark secrets. Yes, we are talking about the haunted sites. If you dare to delve deep enough you will find many haunted secrets of the city.

Different people seem to have seen the spirit appear in different ways. In fact, this place is regarded as one of the most haunted places in the country. There is still mystery unsolved why he committed suicide?  OR why his ghost is still there?  A place you must explore, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Wardah, Railway Track- Nagpur

Smoke leaves through the chimney from the rail made of iron,
Every person rushes by without pausing, no one went near,
"The track is haunted", they say,
"Never, ever go by that way",
There stands the track, deserted.
"Why is it haunted, do you know?"
"People claim to see a human figure with an eerie glow",
Most don't like to talk about it, they steer clear of that place,
Mention it, and see the blood drain from their face,
The smoke still rises from the deserted rail.
Some don't believe it, they think its's a trick,
A myth in the area, they're gonna clear it up quick,
They visit in the silence of night when they think no one's around,
At daybreak, the cause of the myth is found,
The secret lies of getting a beautiful girl killed,
From that day the girl’s spirit has homed herself there.
The screams of that helpless girl still haunt the place
The secret of the deserted, haunted railway track.

This rail track is one of the most frightful places that fill your heart with fear. Rail tracks are often romantic and pleasant, but this particular track was nothing like that for a young girl, who was raped at night with no one to help her. From that day the girl’s spirit has homed herself there. The screams of that helpless girl still haunt the place and have not relaxed since then! According to some of the locals, long ago a girl was raped on this track and since then this place has been haunted by the spirit of that girl.
On some days during nights her screams can still be heard, calling out for help and sobbing in pain. Visitors get Goosebumps as the sound of her screaming vibrates their ears, they just can’t stop listening to it, and even shutting their ears will not help.

Saligaon village- Goa.

Your body filled with a dreadful chill,
Stared at your desk, and the white old quill.
Windy night, the quill moved slight,
You turned the switch, seeking light.
No light came, the bulb was dead,
You thought of going back to bed.
Suddenly noticed, quill moved slight,
You approached, with all your might.
Not the wind, window was closed,
Heart raced, a message exposed.
You read in horror, ink was red,
"Not the wind, go back to bed!"

Goa is popular for many things: it is the party capital of the country but today I will tell you about Saligao village that has a spooky tale that is centuries old and still continues to haunt people.
The village of Saligao is 15 km away from Panji and one of the those quint villages that isn't on Goa's tourist map. You will seldom find tourists flocking here and the life of the locals is as relaxed as it gets. However, there is a banyan tree in the village that makes things uncomfortable for them as the haunted tale is attached to it. The tree is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman called Christalina who once lived here. People avoid taking this route at night as according to an old story, lurking around this banyan tree at night can be dangerous. The spirit of Christalina can posses you as she did years ago.
According to the story, Padre, a missionary once took this route at night and did not return. He was later found unconscious near the banyan tree. When locals took him to the doctor, he remained speechless for four days and later started speaking in Konkani in a female's voice. He also uttered Christalina's name several times. It was concluded that he was possessed by her spirit and even had scratches and blood on his body. Since then, the haunted story has been passed on from one generation to the other and people avoid going near the tree at night.
But, still story is incomplete. Who was Christalina when she was alive? What happened with her? How she died? What’s the reason behind she still haunts the place? Would you visit this place?

The Lambi Dehar Mines, Mussorie.

Her face haunts me forever,
But I knew she was clever,
To look at me in a way,
That makes me want to stay.
She looked like an innocent lady,
Hides in places which are shady,
To go for the kill who passes by,
Nothing can stop that sly.
A different side of her is not well,
She is a literal living hell,
I will never forget those dreadful eyes,
That sheds blood when she cries.

The Lambi Dehar mines are situated on the outskirts of Mussorie. These used to be strip mines, lime quarries that have been shut. Lime turns your lungs into stone and you die a very painful death, coughing blood etc. In the early 1990s there were about a half million workers working in these mines and a lot of these people were dying of diseases.Consider as one of the most haunted places in India. The mines were shut after half a million workers died coughing blood due to improper mining conditions. Locals believe that the place has turned into a home for a witch who walks down the hills at night and has claimed many life. Rapid occurrences of accidents and unusual deaths have also made this place rank among the spookiest places in the country. Legend say that witch walks down the mountains screaming. This place is definitely scarier than any other haunted places due to its lack of population. An alleged “screaming witch” and accidents are claimed to have been associated with paranormal activity.

The Mansion, Residency Road- Pune.

Somewhere, a bat shrieks
Underneath me, the floorboards creak
My only candle starts to gutter
In the dark, I hear a mutter
The candle flickers, then goes out
Upstairs, I hear a shout
The air around me is so cold
I know the house is very old
Cobwebs grab me as I run
I am not having any fun
Up ahead, I see some light
Just what I need in my plight
But it is not as I detected
But, of course, to be expected
A shining figure in the black
A ghost, I think, turning back
I run as I have never before
And soon I find the old front door
I race out into the cloudy night
Panting with fatigue and fright
I think, as it starts to rain
I am not going in there again
Even if I was a mouse
I would not enter the Haunted House.

This abandoned mansion is scary than you think near the Residency Club which is said to be possessed by the spirit of an evil old lady. The place has an eerie quietness in night when crazy laughter and screams have been reported to be heard. This is definitely one of the most haunted places in Pune!

This haunted mansion near Residency club in Pune is processed by an evil spirit of a woman. The bungalow is now almost ruined in the dark it becomes more spooky in night. In daytime too people don't enter inside this house. All-time an eerie sensation prevails there. Some men passing nearby that mansion saw a woman sitting on the top of the house. Her staring shivered their spines. When they shouted in fear, and look again backed there was no one.

At very night, ghostly sobbing, laughs and screaming are heard from the terrible house. Some experts visited there told a strong negative energy always tried to capture their attention. But what happened with her? Who was she when she was alive? All this questions are still a mystery. Not even local’s know what practically happened. And, you are more than welcome to explore it but be careful; that lady isn’t welcoming. I warned you!

Choice Hostel, Karve Road- Pune.

Not a window was broken
And the paint wasn’t peeling
Yet there was a feeling
That beyond the door and into the Hall
This was the house of no one at all.
No one who breathed nor laughed nor ate
Nor said I love nor said I hate.
Yet something walked along the stair
Something that is and isn’t there.
And that is why weeds on the path grow high.
And even the moon races fearfully by.
For something walks along the stair
Something that was and wasn’t there.

If you’re living in a hostel right now, then this might leave you sleepless for nights. This boys hostel in Pune has known to have witnessed quite a bit of paranormal activity. The students have reported sighting a young lady in a red sari, walking the corridors at midnight. Anklet noises and plenty of sobbing I wonder how they sleep at night?? Choice hostel in Pune  is a very good and most expensive hostel for boys. But in the night there is a vibe of depression and spookiness.      Choice hostel is a very good and expensive hostel for boys. Students from rich families stay here to complete their studies.  With most interesting and important time of life but a nightmare forever who can imagine there roams a haunting soul.  Especially on Saturday night’s residents stay united. Most of the Saturday night they saw her ghost wandering in the corridors. Whoever encountered her, they mentioned she wore a red sari.

Some students say they become alert when hear a rhythmic sound of anklet. This is the sign that she is around somewhere. Her eerie presence makes everything very silent. They hold their breaths until every uncanny noise becomes stopped. Students don't go into the corridors to avoid her apparitions. But she remains very mourns all times. It's true, she never harmed anyone. Those who saw her number of time said she haunts there for something. She searches and laments sometime. Definitely this indicates a painful stage of that soul.
Who was she? What happened with her? What is her relation with the hostel? Some people tell the hostel owner killed his first wife. The ghost is nothing but the murdered woman. She roams with her agony caused by her lover.

Marve and Madh Island Road- Malad.

Mumbai is the largest city in India, a city full of dreamers and hard- drudge. A place where you will encounter stray dogs and attractive birds, artists and workers, the poor and millionaires living together in this city. The city is the home of the most prolific of film industries one of Asia’s biggest slums (Dharavi), and the largest tropical forest in an urban zone. How much ever ironic it sounds, the city of Mumbai is extremely beautiful in its own essence. Besides, this every city has some secrets hidden in its history, some sweet lie or dark- bitter truth.
Anyway, I am now collecting information on the haunting of Marve & Madh Road. The road connecting Swami Vivekananda road to Marve village, fresh air and mangrove trees on both sides. Just like a beautiful village road of my childhood. But it’s not haunted by a spirit of a lady like Marve & Madh Road does.

This story is about 25 years ago. At this place, spirit of a lady is present. According to locals, a bride was badly killed on her wedding night. After that her body was dumped in the mangroves. That’s the reason her spirit is always seen by visitors in full bridal outfits. She distracts the visitors on the road of this island which is on the border of Mumbai. She yells and when someone goes to help her, she starts running along that person with his/her vehicle. Due to these paranormal activities many accidents take place on this road.
Road to Marve & Madh.

Generally she appears in full moon night. Many hotel owners heard her screams several times. This became part of their life. But I can't take it so lightly as its becoming evening. I had enough and decided to leave the road before sun downs completely.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park- Borivali, Mumbai.

An exceptional wilderness, The Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) is spread over 103 Sq. Km. and is wedged between the suburbs of Mumbai and Thane. The national park is a huge one located in northern suburbs of the state. It is one of the famous haunted places of Mumbai where more than animals the apparition (spirit) wanderer is seen asking for lift from the passersby.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the biosphere reserve and trekking site, is reported seeing a hazy shadow of a hitchhiker gradually vanishing in air. The same has been reported by forests guards also. Despite being haunted, the park is still one of the most visited parks in the world.
Kanheri Caves
Apart from dense forests, old caves and lurking animals, Sanjay Gandhi Park is also known for mysterious paranormal activities in Mumbai. Local crowd narrates the scary tale of a lunatic female hitchhiker, dressed in white, obstructing the path of travelers. The flora and fauna that covers the park probably frightens visitors and becomes the root but this horror record is narrated by guards at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and locals alike. The Kanheri Caves are described as the most haunted part of the park. So, the next time you’re there, sidestep of hitchhikers!

Mukesh Mills- Colaba, Mumbai.

The fear of the unknown isn’t new and has forever intrigued us to dig a little deeper and find out more about what could be a figment of our imagination or something from the other world. Our series of most haunted places gives a sneak peek of places that have spooked many for something or someone strange. Today I will tell you about Mukesh Mills, a location that you may have seen in several Bollywood movies and ad commercials. But did you know this place is believed to be haunted? So much so that crew members hesitate to shoot here after sunset. Not just that, several actors have felt something eerie here and are spooked out or vowed to never shoot here again. So what is it about this place that could be the reason for its haunting?

Mukesh Textile Mills was established by the East India Company in 1870s. After a fire broke out, killing thousands of people, this mill was shut down on 18th January. The ruins of this deserted mill served the film industry and this place became a hotspot for haunted shoots. However, the scary and dark history of this Mill is enough to scare every soul who dares to enter the area after sunset. Stories of a possessed actress and uncomfortable eerie interiors are unusual to the mill. Who knew that a real haunted place in Mumbai would serve as a story inspiration for mainstream Bollywood!

For those of you who have watched the Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Om Shanti Om”, this story may sound oddly familiar. Even though the mill remained shut for work ever since the fire, it became a shooting location for several movies, TV series and commercials. The song Jee Karda from Badlapur, a few action sequences in Salman’s Wanted and the famous Jumma Chumma Dede song from Hum have been shot here. But there have been stories about things getting lost, crew members hearing voices and actors getting possessed. Bipasha Basu who shot here for one of her movies too felt something strange. She felt as if something did not let her say her dialogues in one particular shot location but she would be fine in any other part of the mill. Even Varun Dhawan felt the chills while filming Jee Karda and the crew would stick together and wrap up before it got dark. TV actress Kamya Punjabi vowed never to shoot here again after she heard about one of the girls there getting possessed and talking to the crew in a manly voice asking them to leave the premises.

Bhangarh Fort- Alwar, Rajasthan.

Bhangarh Fort is situated on the border of Sariska Tiger reserve in the Aravali range in the deserted town of Bhangarh, Rajasthan. Bhangarh is a ruined town between Jaipur and Alwar.  Bhangarh fort is a major tourist attraction and is said to be one of the most haunted historical places in the world. Many myths are related with this haunted fort. Out of the numerous stories about bhangarh fort one that is most prevalent is that the Bhangarh city was built by King Madho Singh. For this city, the Emperor got approval by ascetic Guru Balu Nath who meditated at this place. The approval was given on the condition that the shadow of emperor's palace would never touch him at his prohibited retreat. If shadow touched over his place, the city would turn into ruins. The emperor started his fort construction with his money and strength. The Bhangarh fort was constructed and finally shadowed the prohibited retreat of Guru Balu Nath. As per power of Saint, the entire town was destroyed and ever since any construction around the crushed location or palace faces collapse. The samadhi of Guru Balu Nath is still there where he was buried.

The second story revolves there is about the beautiful princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh and was famed for her stately beauty all over her own kingdom and the neighboring states. By the time the princess turned 18 years old, she started getting matrimonial offers from different states. There was a tantrik called Singhia, who was completely smitten by her but knew that his match was impossible with the princess. But Singhia (tantrik) under the spell of glorious beauty of The Princess decided to decoy the princess with his magical powers (jadu/ black magic). One day Singhia saw the princess's maid in the market. So he thought, he'll marry the princess by using black magic on the oil that the maid was purchasing so that by touching it, the princess would surrender herself to magician. However, the princess saw the Sanghia Tantrik trick that he was enchanting the oil. So the princess poured the oil on to the ground. The oil on ground turned touched a rock and rolled towards the magician and crushed him ( Singhia ). Before dying, the magician cursed the Bhangarh city to death and said there will be no more rebirths. After this incident, the curse showed its results in the battle between Bhangarh and Ajabgarh, where Ratnavati was assassinated. However, some local (folk) stories tell that the princess has taken a rebirth somewhere else. The Bhangarh fort is waiting for her return and end the sadistic curse. According to the folk tales, Bhangarh fort is the dwelling of ghosts and that is why entry is prohibited for tourists or visitors in the fort before sunrise and after sunset.
There is a rumor that spirits roam in Bhangarh Fort at night. People often hear strange noises (screaming, crying voice of women, bangles sound in the rooms) and they reported many weird and scary-incidents like someone's talking and a special smell is felt. Such kind of weird incidents are reported in the fort after dusk.

People have seen ghostly shadow, strange lights, unusual sound of music and dance coming from the Bhangarh fort. It is said that whoever entered in the fort after sunset and stayed there for a night, will not return back ever.

Brij Raj Bhavan, Kota- Rajasthan.

Next on our list of haunted places is the Brij Raj Bhavan of Rajasthan. The majestic mansion is now a heritage hotel which is haunted by the spirit of an English soldier. Rajasthan is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the country and attracts several foreigners every year to its historic forts and majestic palaces. But it is also infamous for the number of haunted places it is believed to have. I have already told you about Kuldhara which is an abandoned village where no one lives. And today I will tell you about another haunted place in Rajasthan, the Brijraj Bhawan Palace Hotel in Kota.

A palace that was once home to Major Charles Burton, is a heritage hotel today but is rather infamous for being a haunted property. The story goes that Major Burton was killed here by Indian sepoys during the mutiny of 1857. He was holed up in one of the upper rooms with his two sons as they looted the palace and then they surrendered after five hours of siege. The soldiers killed all of them and later the British buried their bodies in the Kota cemetery with full military rights. The British also reclaimed this property which later became the property of the Queen of Kota. But in the ’70s, the government renovated it and it became the Brijraj Bhawan Palace Hotel.

But the property soon became the talk of the town when people began saying that it was haunted by the ghost of Major Charles Burton. Even though his spirit does not really harm anyone, guards working here have often heard a man’s voice speaking in English and commanding them to not fall asleep or smoke. And if they do fall asleep on duty, the ghost even slaps them to wake them up. This incident has happened with quite a number of guards. Though guests haven’t had much of a problem here, some have complained of feeling a sudden discomfort in some parts of the palace hotel.

Delhi- Cantonment area.

Until February 1938, the Cantonment Board Delhi was known as the Cantt authority. The area of the Cantonment is approx. 10,521 acres. It is near Delhi University, nearest Bus Stop is Daula Kaun and nearest landmark overhead Water Tank. Of one of the many places believed to be haunted, Delhi Cantt’s name is definitely in the Top 10. When I first heard about it, to me it sounded completely ridiculous primarily because it did not fit in the criteria. It is not  ancient site like, definitely not a place far away from civilization and there is no violent and gory past attached to it. It is just like any other residential colonies in cities all over the world. What’s more, it’s in a city that never sleeps and is heavily guarded both by the cops and Indian Army. Well illuminated roads with endless traffic that is alive 24 hours but to my surprise that is what the lore was attached to.

Delhi cantonment road really a terrifying place for those had seen this eerie ghost lady. Many drivers on the night had gone through the nightmare. More than 100 of people have seen that lady of Delhi Cantt road, 12 of them have died. The lady ghost often appears and disappears in front of the eyes of victims. They felt she often tried to make them nervous and horrified. Even she knocked the door if the car raises its speed too. Some people claim
maybe that lady died in a car accident on cantt road or maybe she was a hitchhiker in her life. Anyway, everyone in that particular road is strictly advised, not to stop the vehicle if someone asks for a lift.
There are a few beliefs as to who this woman was in her life. Some say that she was one of the many unfortunate girls who have fallen prey to a sick mind’s lust in she was raped. It is believed that on the last night of her life, she asked for a lift elsewhere in the city. She was raped in her a moving car and then dumped her body at Delhi Cantt. Ever since, she is stuck here in a death loop, asking for a lift and repeating the events of her death each night. Some think of her as a vengeful spirit seeking revenge on men, as a matter of fact any man who gave her a lift. With this strange incidence, that area becomes one of the scariest places in Delhi and gets this real Indian ghost story.

Grand Paradi Towers- Malabar Hill.

Situated in one of the posh locations in the city, the Grand Paradi Towers are said to be haunted. The first incident was that of a couple jumping from their flat, followed by other family members the next year. There have been reports of maids committing suicide in the building and other spooky accidents claiming the lives of residents. Despite numerous pujas and other methods used the towers still remain one of the most haunted places in the city.

Anyone will hardly believe this place is haunted. It is one of the richest place and prime location in Mumbai. Built in 1975, it is very hard to believe that a number of flat, mostly in second floor are unsold. Especially like in an area such as Malabar Hills. One man who works there as a security guard gave interesting information: More than twenty suicides, fatal accidents and bad happenings made Grand paradi towers ghostly. It is quite natural if some places met lots of unnatural deaths the atmosphere becomes freaky easily. May be it is kind of hallucination or something else.
Let's dig into its suicides at a glance. Vasadeo and Tara Dalal committed

suicides in June 14, 1998. Police found their suicide note where they accused their own son and daughter in law for harassing them and provoking to death. Police arrested their son and daughter-in-law Balkrishna (48) and Sonal (45). After 7 years later they also took the same fate as their parents. Balkrishna, Sonal and their 19-year-old daughter Pooja also committed suicide by jumping off from eight floor balcony. In 2000 Mr. Jain committed suicide from there. On Saturday, October 28, 2006, a 24 year old girl, Charisma Kadakia jumped to her death while she was with her boyfriend. The guy didn’t know what the depressed girl was going through. In another incident a housemaid was dead by falling from the window. It is not clear if that was a suicide or anything else. There are so many other incidents where people died unnaturally. Thus, this place retains one of most haunted places in Mumbai.

Chandan Nagar, Pune

India is definitely a place of mysteries. For very long, people in the west have thought of India as a place of snake charmers and magicians. People have been visiting India to places like Varanasi, Rishikesh, Haridwar, etc. for spirituality. India has been the origin for 4 of World’s biggest religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. And as they say, good spirits and bad spirits go hand in hand.

Indian Hindu mythology is full of devils and “Asuras” (demons). Time to time, various demons have rose and fought against angels and gods. According to Hindu mythology, spirits never die and those spirits which die unnatural death can never find peace and keep roaming around, causing the place to be haunted. These free-roaming spirits have also been known to attack people, create unnatural incidents and make the places spooky.
Here is one of the creepiest ones! A little girl in a white frock, holding a doll comes screaming at you. Does that sound scary enough for you? It is said that the small colony of Chandan Nagar in Pune has a little terror hidden in it’s womb. The ghost of a little girl who roams the night in a white frock, holding a doll in her hands! She appears at the strike of the midnight hour and comes screaming at you if you happen to cross her path. The very description is enough to make you jump out of your skin. There is story behind this. About 10 years ago the girl was killed at a construction site and has haunted the place since then. People have reported that she smiles at you if you look at her. This is good fodder for a nightmare, leave alone venturing to find her.

Kuldhara— The village of ghosts.

While coming back towards Jaisalmer, when took a turn to right at some point and went on another straight dusty road for a few kilometres, before the ruins showed up. The sun was up in the sky by the time we reached Kuldhara. This place is a protected monument and is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The village of Kuldhara is popularly known to be a deserted ghost village that has been abandoned since 1800s. It is said to carry a curse of the villagers who vanished from there overnight, after having lived there for over 7 centuries.
The village lies in ruins, established in 1291 by the Paliwal Brahmins, who were a very prosperous clan and were known for their business acumen and agricultural knowledge. It has been said that one night in 1825 all the people in Kuldhara and nearby 83 villages vanished in dark. All of a sudden and without any warning.
Tales about this mystery include the fact that Salim Singh, the minister of the state, once visited this village and fell in love with the beautiful daughter of chieftain wanting to marry her.
The minister threatened the villagers by saying that if they did not marry the girl to him, he would levy huge taxes or burn them alive. The chief of the village along with those of adjoining villages decided to abandon and migrate elsewhere to protect the girl’s honour. Nobody saw them leave nor did anyone figure where they went, they simply vanished. It is said that the villagers also cast a spell on the village as they left, cursing anyone who tried to inhabit the land, also it is said by villagers that The Minister burned down the whole village in which all the villagers died.

Aarey Milk Colony, Goregaon.

We continue with our on going process of Haunted places and the next up in list is Mumbai's Famous Aarey Milk Colony situated in Goregaon East, a suburb of city of Mumbai, India.

It was established in 1949 and officially inaugurated by the  Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1951. Aarey Milk Colony includes 12 villages – Sai, Gundgav, Film City, Royal Palms, Dindoshi (Eksar Pahad), Aarey, Pahadi Goregaon, Vyraval, Kondivita, Maroshi (Marol), Parjapur and Paspoli. Among the attractions in it are Chhota Kashmir with a lake and a picnic spot.
This famous spot in Mumbai is very well associated with oddities, petty crimes, lurking leopards and yes (most importantly) paranormal activities! This 10sq. Km stretch of Mumbai is a famous spooky and scary destination, with a mysterious and haunted air around it. Local people narrate incidents of a woman in a white saree, asking for lift in the odd hours of the night. She becomes violent soon after. Other stories include the existence of a disappearing old man, crying babies and other strange experiences.

Nasserwanj Wadi, Mahim.

Mahim have a series of haunted places, but the creepiest weird place among them is Nasserwanj Wadi. Not so far from the Mahim railway station, Nasserwanj Wadi is already known as one of the scariest places of Mumbai. Trying to explore the place after midnight is definitely not a good idea. The painful spirit of the landlord is still haunting on the place every night.
The story is almost 16 years old. This property was owned then by a Parsi gentleman, named Naseer. For some reason he was killed in his own cabin. He was brutally burnt by the murders. Near his chamber there was a well in the compound. Due, to love and affection towards his property ghost didn't leave that place. People there believed he haunts people who crossed his path at night. At many times the victims were possessed by the ghost. The property is believed as cursed by the presence of the eerie presence. More than seven people died unnaturally within a short span of time after Nasser’s death. Residents there thought the ghost walks around the well. They concealed the well under a pole. That really didn't work for them. Only now they remain cautious especially at night. They don't go near the well at night in any circumstances.

Vrindavan society- Thane.

There are always two sides of a coin while one side reveals a dark and spooky nature of the mega-city Mumbai. Probably we all have heard about a lot of stories. Some of them are fake or gossips. But many have strange, creepy stories attached with them. We find so many popular and historical places that are haunted in nature. The vrindavan society in Thane is one such shining example and thus comes under the list of most haunted places.Mumbai and the areas surrounding it are crowded ones. They have their share of spooky tales to haunt people.
This society was under construction in the ’80s and after eight-nine years, it was finally open for residents. When it was constructed, Virnavan was one of the most sought-after addresses in Thane and has since been home to people from different parts of the country. There are as many as a hundred buildings in the complex and the area is very densely populated. Despite this every once in a while there are stories of a ghost that slaps people! The story goes that a man who lived in building 66B committed suicide in his flat in Vrindavan Society. Ever since then, his spirit has haunted people in the middle of the night.
The ghost of this man has slapped guards who have been on duty at night. Sour & dry mouth from fear, dust floating in the air and coating the tongue, salty tears people stay away from this place. An invisible force slaps them and they cannot find anyone around. Some residents have also felt his presence in their flats at night or see his spirit in the society. Noice of footsteps on the stair, creaking doors, window shutters rattling on the outside, wind scattering, screams, crying, wailing, laughter, glass smashing, the scrap of a chair moving, the scritch of tree branches scraping at the windows, rats squeaking, movement in the walls. The slapping ghost has gained enough coverage and has made Vrindavan Society one of the most haunted places. People continue to stay here but there is always something mysteriously spooky about 66B and not many like to go near that building late at night. Why the ghost slaps people isn’t clear but word on the street is that there is spirit and it refuses to leave even after so many years.
